Objective To assist the employees to meet the medical expenses of self and their family members. Medical expenses incurred on treatment under Allopathic, Ayurvedic or Homeopathic shall only be considered for reimbursement against bills from registered medical practitioners & pharmacists only. { Procedure ‘* Statement of medical expenses should be submitted only once in a year and latest by 28" February of the respective financial year by the employee in the prescribed form (Annexure 1) to Corporate/ Finance & Accounts supported by appropriate receipts. Finance department will grant the tax exemption in respect of these medical bills that will be taken care of, while computing the tax in March every year. © The reimbursement of medical expenses shall be made through monthly salary, instead of current practice of quarterly payment. The employees will thus, be paid the prorate amount through the monthly salary as per their annual band limit which will be treated as fully taxable. ‘+ Mediclaim Premium paid by employee for self and family can also be reimbursed to ‘employees against their annual entitlement. * Employees who are covered under the Employees’ State Insurance Act are not covered under this Scheme. * Expenses incurred in connection with following items are not allowed for! reimbursement: a. All types of cosmetics b. Hair Tonic cc. Sanitary Towels ete. 4, Bournvita, Ovattine, Horlicks, Malts, Boost, Complan, drinking chocolate and any other health drinks etc. + Employees are required to submit original medical bills. Claim against false / fake medical bills shall be viewed seriously and appropriate disciplinary action shall be taken. ‘The above scheme is effective from June 1, 2010. This supercedes the Reimbursement of Medical Expenses Scheme dated August 01, 2006, and all circulars / amendments / notices issued / practices and usages with respect to the same till above-mentioned date.
