Option1

Using an auto transformer to reduce the AC input voltage, rectify it and then filter the DC Power to
allowable ripple and connect it to the battery. D1 through D6 (Single Module) mounted on heat sink
with forced air cooling.

Boost charging voltage = 2.35V/cell (Per Battery spec.)

Total Number of cells = 150

Total charging Voltage =352.5VDC

Required AC Voltage = 249VAC

This transformer is readily available in the lab. Only need to procure diode module and the capacitor.

Note:

1. Charging voltage and current will depend on the input voltage.

2. A charging cutoff circuit will be added to stop charging when the battery voltage reaches
352.5VDC.
Option2:

Using a step down transformer to reduce the AC input voltage, rectify it and then filter the DC Power to
allowable ripple and connect it to the battery. D1 through D6 (Single Module) mounted on heat sink
with forced air cooling.

Boost charging voltage = 2.35V/cell (Per Battery spec.)

Total Number of cells = 150

Total charging Voltage =352.5VDC

Required AC Voltage = 249VAC

This transformer is not readily available in the lab. Need to procure along with diode module and the
capacitor. Lead time to procure transformer will be approx... 3weeks.

Note:

1. Charging voltage and current will depend on the input voltage.

2. A charging cutoff circuit will be added to stop charging when the battery voltage reaches
352.5VDC.
