To support its impending ‘growth, Client wanted to integrate its op- cations with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution. It also required inventory tracking and product expira- tion management capabilities to better manage its range of dry chilled and frozen produce, Challenge Established in Wester, india, the client is a large manufacturer of dairy and food products in India competing with several ‘global players in the food industry. Client's diary plant manufactures varied range of day and food products including dairy ingredients for food in- dustries such as cheese, milk fat and ‘cream, milk powder, foodservice cheese {rom all regions of the country; foodserv- ice mik cream and butter A large player in the dairy and food service, client aims to be the "rst choice supplier of al food Users in the country”. Their market lead- ership is evidenced by the numerous ac- ‘olades they have received from the Official Agencies ‘As one of the fastest growing dairy manufacturers, the client was operating in a highly competitive environment. In this context of, the client needs to meet the demands of fast-changing consumer preferences and tough competition from ‘other players, Our client recognized that to become a major industry player, it faced a number of problems with its ex- isting information systems which had to be resolved. Executive Summary In this case study we describe how we have implemented the Milk Dairy ERP solution for a large Dairy Manufacturer. This client has its offices located all over Wester Inia. They wanted proper software at their diferent offices and the Head Otfice and also a software to ‘automatically maintain a centralized consolidated database at the Head Office. They also wanted to have centralized inventory and accounts access at all the offices. The client needed a ERP which would manage inventory and accounts centrally. The di. {erent offices of the client should be connected to the Head Office and all the offices would be able to do access inventory and accounts information from any office of the client. Business Challenge Our client has a existing software developed in-house and based on outdated technolo. Gies. They had distributed databases with no connectivity between the offices. The client couldn't access inventory and accounts information from all the offices. Business growth was restricted due to inabilty of client to manage inventory, expiry issues, accounts re- ceivables and cost of production. Competition from both local and large private Dairies was forcing client to adopt solutions which could enable it leverage the benefits of technology. The client wanted to use all the modern technology services to ramp up the business growth. Further it wanted to improve it's regulatory compliance mechanism. Also compl ‘ance of internal audit and systems audit requirements was a priorty for the client The client needed to address the following key business challenges * Eliminate the need of manual consolidation of data at the Head Office. + Get the consolidated view of the inventory and accounts information at all the offices, of the client. Netwin Solution Netwin Infosolutions was selected as a software vendor to develop and implement this, highly complex solution because of our past expertise in handling such projects We developed and implemented the software using MSSQL Database and ASPanet. Solution Netwin leveraged its considerable technical, management and domain expertise to map a solution that would best fit all the challenges presented by the client situation, Redesigning the business process pre- sumed a thorough understanding of the existing processes. In order to achieve this understanding, Netwin formed two teams ~ first to understand business processes, another to understand the technology and infrastructure of the en- terprise. Coordinating diverse contributing agencies is often crucial to resolving problems. Software Requirements Study We analyzed the existing software of the client and their requirements and then weighed them against the data requirement of Netwin’s software solution and then came out with a solution to fil this software and data gap. The report was approved by the IT department of the client. B. Customization of the software The ERP software was customized as per the requirements of the customer as per the re~ quirements document C. Client Acceptance Test (CAT) The whole application after customization was tested and verified by the client's IT team on the test instance at the Head Office, D. Office location wise Implementation Plan ‘After approval ofthe gap report a detailed office location wise implementation plan was pre- pared. The plan had the following details {Hardware implementation plan 2.Staff Training Plan 3.Rollout and Signoff Pian E. Final Consolidation at the Head Office. AAs the connectivity was established between all ofices and the Head Office (Leased Lines) and the Mik Dairy ERP solution was implemented at the Head Office. This solution was sed by the client staf to get the consolidated view of inventory and the customer account details Business Benefits “The success of this solution was depended on the effective interface between the offices at different locations and at the Head Office of the client. The eriical part was to ensure the availabilty of the Central inventory and account information at all the locations whenever Fequired.
