You will be asked to problem solve through several real-life trigonometry situations, in what I would like
to call a “trigonometry scavenger hunt’. You may work with your group to do any outside measurements
that need to take place (i.e. measuring how far something is, setting up the required situation). You may
not solve any trigonometric situations with your group. That includes drawing a diagram of the situation
as well.
You will be given several tools to complete this mission. They include:
Greenhouse Poles (8 feet = 96 inches each), Measuring Tape, Clinometer, Giant Protractor
1. Pick two tools from the box above to find the height of the upstairs building using a trigonometric
ratio. Measure outside Mr. Johnson's classroom.
