Chapter 3

METHODOLOGY

This chapter conveys the research method used in the study. Furthermore, it also presents
the research design, research environment, subjects, research instruments and their validity, data
gathering procedures and statistical treatment of the data.

Research design

The descriptive-correlation research method will be used to gather the needed data. This
will be possible with the help of sixty respondents. This will answer what are the problems that
the eco-tourism of selected places in Lanao Del Norte encounters. Standardized questionnaire
was adapted and modified from the study of (ahamogikan sa questionare). The gathered data was
tallied tabulated, encoded, and analyzed through frequency distribution and percent.

Research Environment

The study will be conducted on three different places with in Lanao del Norte. These
places are Pili Hot/Cold Spring, Mt. Inayawan and Sta. Cruz Falls. Pili Hot/Cold Spring is both
a hot and cold spring located near the foot of Mt. Karkum, which has potential for geothermal
energy Mt. Inayawan is a mountain range located in the heart of Nunungan, Lanao del Norte. It
is the highest mountain in the province of Lanao del Norte. The mountain which also showcase a
beautiful twin lake called Lake Nunungan offers the inhabitants a vast expanse of freshly
abundant flora and fauna. While Sta. Cruz Falls islocated at Sta. Cruz, Kapatagan, Lanao del
Norte. It is approximately 2 kilometers from the national Highway and surrounded with growing
trees and wild vegetation. Known among locals as a miniature Niagara Falls.
Respondents

Sixty respondents per location will be used in the study To ensure the validity of the
study, the researcher assures that the respondents are residents of the said location for more the
five years.
