Mah Gazette regarding eligilibity conditions for being a member of any authority Refine Sit/Madam, 1) The Maharashtra Public Universities Act,2016 (hereinafter referred as ‘the Act’) came into force from Ist March, 2017. The ‘t. of Maharashtra, in the light of provisions made ws 27 of the Act, has issued eligibility conditions for being elected, nominated or co-opted as a member of any authority of the university as mentioned under reference at above. Now, the process of election ‘to university authorities is going to commence with the preparation of provisional electoral roll of persons, entitled to vote at an election to the authorities or bodies of the university. 2) __Asper the following provisions of section 40(2)(c) of the Act and the respective eligibility conditions mentioned at above, the Three Heads of Departments from affiliated colleges are to be elected from amongst collegiums of heads of departments of affiliated colleges, on the Boards of Studies. Section 40(2)(c) : “THREE heads of departments from affiliated colleges and recognized institutions to be elected from amongst the collegiums of heads of departments of afliliated colleges and recognized institutions. Eligibility conditions :- “Elected from Collegiums of Heads of Departments of Affiliated Colleges and Recognised Institutions — (a) Shall possess Ph.D. Degree, unless he is Principal appointed as a Principal before 13th October 2000, (b) Shall have at least ten years teaching experience at undergraduate level in aggregate, (©) Shall have undertaken university examination related work for atleast five years in aggregate.” 3) The Direction No. 15, 16 and 17/2017 in respect of “Constitution of faculties’, ‘List of subjects comprised in each faculty’ and ‘Assigning of various Boards of Studies to the faculty” respectively are enclosed herewith for reference. (Annexure-A, Band C respectively) 4) Theterms “Head of Department”, “College”, and “Department” are defined under para 3 of Direction No. 18/2017 in respect of ‘Procedure for election of Three Heads of Departments in affiliated Colleges on Board of Studies’ isalso enclosed herewith for reference. (Annexure-D) 5) Annexure-E (Page No.G-8398) annexed herewith is for designating Heads of Departments by you for inclusion of their names inthe electoral roll forthe elections to the Boards of Studies, 6) Annexure-F (Page No.G-8399) annexed herewith regarding declaration is to be filled in by the teacher who isto be designated by you as Head of the Department for inelusion of his/her name in the electoral roll for elections to the Boards of Studies, 7) Annexure-G (Page No.G-8400) annexed herewith is for designating the teacher by you as Head of the Department if he/she is not senior most teacher in the department. 8) Annexure-H (Page No.G-8401) annexed herewit Department, if you are senior most teacher in the department. 9) What is to be done by yourself? Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati DIRECTION No.: 15/2017 Dated : 3/7/2017 Subject : Constitution of faculties in the University as prescribed by the Maharashtra Public Universities Act, 2016, Direction, 2017 Whereas, “Maharashtra Public Universities Act, 2016” has been implemented for Non- Agricultural Universities in the State, AND Whereas, the Higher & Technical Education Department of Maharashtra has directed to implement the said Act with effect from I“ of March, 2017, vide its letter No. warftsr- 2094/(399/94)/fARI-¥/ATI-2, dated 1.3.2017, AND Whereas, Sub-Section (2) of Section 34 of the Maharashtra Public Universities Act, 2016 has prescribed following four faculties in non-agricultural Universities, 1 Faculty of Science and Technology; 2.Faculty of Commerce and Management; 3.Faculty of Humanities; 4.Faculty of Inter-disciplinary Studies AND Whereas, total ten Faculties are in existence in the University as prescribed by the Original Statute ~ 18, AND Whereas, making Statute in this respect is time consuming process. Now, therefore, 1, Dr. Murlidhar G. Chandekar, Vice Chancellor of Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, in exercise of powers conferred upon me under sub-section (8) of Section 12 of Maharashtra Public Universities Act, 2016, do hereby directs as under; i) This Direction may be called, “Constitution of faculties in the University as prescribed by the Maharashtra Public Universities Act, 2016, Direction, 2017." This Direction shall come into force w.e.f. its issuance. Hereinafter following four faculties comprising the respective subjects thereunder, shall be in existence in the University namely; 1 Faculty of Science and Technology; 2.Faculty of Commerce and Management; 3.Faculty of Humanities; 4.Faculty of Inter-disciplinary Studies iv) Hereinafter, the existing original Statute No. 18 shall stand repealed. ii) Sd/- Date: 3/7/2017 (Dr. Murlidhar G.
