Community Benefit Checklist

ECONOMIC BENEFITS
Does your Action Plan have economic benefits for the community?
• HIGH—will cover costs, generate income and be sustainable.
• MEDIUM—will cover costs OR generate income but not both.
• LOW—will be a cost burden on the council.
SOCIAL BENEFITS
Does it have social benefits?
• HIGH—will provide support for all groups in the community, for example: young, elderly
and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
• MEDIUM—will provide benefits for youth and elderly.
• LOW—will provide benefits for only one group.
ENVIRONMENTAL BENEFITS
Does your Action Plan help the local environment?
• HIGH—the creek will be reclaimed, environmental studies will be implemented, an
Indigenous garden planted with education walks offered.
• MEDIUM—community garden and environmental education walks.
• LOW—only the Leadbeater possum study will be sponsored.
COMMUNITY AWARENESS
Have you consulted widely and does your Action Plan have community support? 
• HIGH—evidence of large community support.
• MODERATE—evidence of moderate community support.
• LOW—evidence of low community support.
