#2 Reflection: During this week, I’ve written a short descriptive about 200-300

words piece of writing of a small lake/ island. I’ve increased the use of higher
leveled adjectives and complex sentences. I also added feelings and senses in this
writing. Based on my research, including senses in your writing will make the
reader feel more intrigued in the passage. The use of figurative language is also
helpful in putting emotions, hidden meanings and images.

#2 Evidence The Lake Dead silent at midnight, not a single cricket can be heard.
Upon the misty smog filled atmosphere, clouds began to swiftly drift pass the lake.
The brightly shimmering moon peers over the clouds and reflects itself on the
glass-like surface. Across the lake lies a bright orange boat. It’s rackling motors
created motion and cursive waves appeared. Flimsy tree branches were dancing in
the chilly winds to the tune of chirping crickets and hoots of owls. Ripples
appeared as the branches swiftly tap on the translucent face of the water. A
moment of clarity brushed my mind. I was deeply sunken into the atmosphere that
would only exist in my fantasies. The everlasting view of the gleaming moonlight
was so empty yet so peaceful and elegant. Fireflies rose upon the crowd of lilies in
the dimmed orange lights. The soft and graceful ambience was once again elevated
by the level of deep mists surrounding the floor. In a split second, my attention was
taken away from the moment by a sudden splash across the lake. A group of
children can be seen skipping pebbles and gravels. Their high-pitched laughter
echoed through the vast lake as it gets quieter when reaching into the forest. A
little girl dressed in coral pink waved at me and I waved back. A quick smile can
be seen on her face as she trotted back to her group of friends. I lay down on a dry
spot where daisies were wildly blossoming as its sweet scent fills the air. Glaring at
front was darkness being lit up by tiny specks of stars. The scene was so glorious, I
had to take out my phone for a quick snap. I wanted to cherish this once in a
lifetime experience before leaving this lake.
