1. Transformation to SAFE by KPMG:

Presentation how KPMG help to their clients implement SAFE. Road map:

 Preparation meetings – 3 days

 Management involving – 2 days
 Planning of implementation – 3 days
 Teams involving – 2 days
 Implementation – 2 days
 Assisted running – 1 month

Do not forget that company clients/suppliers must be involved too. This was not good presentation. Lot
of information missed.

2. 7 biggest wrong expectation in Agile implementation:

1. Agile will solve all ouf our problems – No, Agile will help you to see it, but still solving of this
problems is on you and your teams.
2. Agile is good only to some companies – No, some level of agility (adaptability) is applicable
everywhere.
3. Agile is described – No, some frameworks are described, Agile is not. There are only some
principles and values.
4. Agile is about strong SM/PO leading team – No, Agile is about self-organised teams. SM and PO
arent leading team.

5. No planning in Agile – No, there is still planning but not soo deep. You need long term vision –
direction. Deepness of planning depend on product.
6. Agile is reorganization – No, Agile is not big bang. It is slow change of internal mindset with
changing some part of organization. It can work combination that some part of company is in
waterfall and some in agile.
7. Agile does not need product portfolio or Projects – No, it depends on company but can be
together implemented. Product portfolio is still actuall. Good PO have future vision.

Standard problem:

Give them responsibility, but they don't have skills. Give them trust and let them grow up to
responsibility.

3. Vodafone (big mobile operator) Agile Transformation case study

4 levels:

1. Pioneers
Start of transformation in small groups. They bring business value really fast with cross
functional teams. But they was too lack in start and lot of technical debt. Had isolated groups.
2. On Agile wave
Era of hipe. Big entusiasm but low knowledge. Great was having support from Top management.
Missing experts for huge transformations
3. Real moves
Inspired by spotify model. First tribes are running. Agile expert as a part of management board.
Missed „Scrum Master Way“ – sharing agile know-how from scrum masters to whole company.
Comes some problems with crazy KPIs from mother company (like number of new tribes
created, or number of standups per week).
4. Scale up
Right now. Start of next tribes. Product redefinition (again). Redefinition of organization
structure. OKR methodology.

4. Be Agile to yourself
Little bit off topic but still interesting. Sport/regeneration coach Vit Schlesinger had dynamic speech
oriented to self-motivation and work with emotion.

 Happiness is not equal to success.

 Happiness is more close to progress.

5. Where is Customer in Agile?
Next presentation from KPMG and again with poor quality ☹. Good points:

 Create „Persona“ – profile of your real product user

 In one company they iniciate create of guild for customer inovations
 Agile means to be customer centric

6. How to grow to 500+ staying Agile (and Happy)

Nice presentation from company „SEMRUSH“. Good points:

 Fast will beat down slow

 Agile – perfect for sharing
 Sharing moment with customer is important
 People – source that competitors cant replicate.
 The leaders are growing from natural opportunity.
 You can do Epic shit with basic people. For Epic product you need grow up people.

7. Agile transformation – day after

Presentation from Trask Solution. Oriented deeply to metrics of a team changes and others. Good
points:

 WSJF https://www.scaledagileframework.com/wsjf/
 Team assessment https://resources.collab.net/agile-101/agile-assessment
 Health check https://labs.spotify.com/2014/09/16/squad-health-check-model/
 Measurement is like feedback, hint
 It is crucial to start measure

8. Agile from psychologist side

Short presentation from Headhunter oriented to „Flow“ diagram - skills vs difficulty. Necessary of
transparency in company.

9. Workshop: Systém Thinking

Nice workshop from Karel Smutny where was possible to try process mapping for better understanding
dependencies between variables.
