Dr.

Franz Stark: At that time you also had contacts with big figures of the Extra-
parliamentary Opposition. The keyword here is Joschka Fischer, whom you have even
knew.

Djindjic: Knowing is maybe reading too much into it. Of course, we knew Joschka
Fischer or Daniel Cohn-Bendit as contemporary figures, that was clear. Anyhow, Joschka
Fischer had his own small corner with a modern antique shop in the Karl Marx bookstore
in Frankfurt. At the time, I was very interested in the Weimar legal theory and especially
in Carl Schmitt, who was later very infamous as a so-called Nazi constitutional lawyer.
However, I appreciated him very much because he was very astute. Joschka Fischer sold
some of this books: I remember that they costed 80 marks each at the time. One day I
also asked Joschka Fischer why, as a leftist, he would sell these fascist books for 80
marks. He just said, "This is the market. It's the free market. Take it or leave it!"
