First of all why do we have a subject like “Reading and Writing”, all of us students need this, for it is

the ability to communicate clearly and effectively forms the foundation of modern life. Reading and
writing skills allow students to seek out information, explore subjects in depth and gain a deeper
understanding of the world around them. When they cannot read well, they become discouraged and
frustrated by school. Me myself don’t like reading books and writing so much. But once I take this class I
realized that it could help me explore things and help me get the meaning of some words that I don’t
know.

The first thing I learned in this subject was critical reading it din really helped me in some kind of
stories that has to many plots or problem, because in critical reading you need to understand or analyze
what you’re reading. Next was the types of writing, which are expository, persuasive, narrative , and
descriptive. First what is expository, it is ideas, information, and facts. Next is persuasive, it is a form of
nonfiction writing that encourages careful word choice. Narrative, it is a story fiction or nonfiction this
type of writing includes narrator and a series of characters. Descriptive, it describes a person, place,
thing etc. In such a way that a picture is formed in the reader’s mind. This also teaches us on how to
make your own resume which in the future can be helpful to us.

Everything I’ve learned in this subject is very applicable in real life , for reading and for writing it will
help you a lot and even on taking a job it will also help you. This are the things that I learned in this
subject and I hope I can still learn more.
