Introduction

This lesson is intended to teach students recognition of the circle shape.

Objectives

After the completion of the lesson, students will be able to:

 Recognize the shape “circle”.


 Identify the “circle” shape out of different shapes on worksheet.

Procedure:

Following steps will be included in the procedure:

Warm Up

Step No. 1.

Teacher will enter the classroom with happy mood and will say greetings to the student.

Step No. 2.

Teacher will ask the following questions from the student to check their prior knowledge

 How the fan of this room moves?


 What is the shape of clock displayed on the wall?

Opening

Step No. 3.

Teacher will announce the lesson by saying “today we will learn to recognize the shape of
circle and we will also find it out in our surroundings.

Main Activity

Step No. 4.

 Teacher will show the flashcard of circle and say “this is circle, it is round”. Teacher
will also give the flashcard to the children so they can feel the shape by touching it.
 Teacher point out the displayed chart of circle, put her finger on circle and tell the
students that this is circle.
 With the help of same chart, teacher will show the students shape of round clock and
fan and tell them that clock and fan has circle shape.

Guided Practice

Teacher will put flashcard of circle and square on the table and ask students to pick the circle.
If they make any mistake she will prompt them as appropriate.

Independent Practice

Teachers will ask students find out the circle in several things in the classroom.
Assessment

Teacher will give the students a worksheet with the three shapes on it and ask the student to
students to tick the circle.

Reinforcement

Teacher will give students primary reinforcement by saying “great job my friend” etc and
provide them secondary reinforcement by giving them candies. `
