Career development - Nobody in the lab dares to give himself/herself a 4 or

5 points out of a max of 5 points during his/her end-

of-the-year self appraisal. Why? The QA manager

erupted when someone did so last time. Hard to

excel under such environment (1 Star)

Work/life balance - You don't have choice whether you want/like to do

weekend shifts or not when you're a Lab technician.

According to the QA manager, if you didn't do shift work

on the weekend, that's because you're either on MC or

the Chemists do it for you out of sympathy(because

you're tired) (1 Star)

Working environment - You need to have an extremely high(or infinity) EQ

to work at United Oil. Some stuff have very bad

temper & it has a strong blame culture. In fact some

stuff in the lab had already started to show sign of

rapid aging(heavy hair loss/greying) in their 20s &

30s due to constant fear. I'm the 3rd lab tech to

resign within just 17 months. (1 Star)

Management - No privacy. Whatever you learn outside the office hours,

your study materials/textbooks in your thumb-drive,new

scientific discovery/method related to product/work ...etc all

belong to the QA manager,GM & company even when it's

not stated in your contract(non-executive) to give up all

these trade secrets/inventions. In short, you're not

paid for self upgrading or doing R&D but any knowledge you

gain from it doesn't belong to you. If you want to

stay safe from getting penalized, be lazy, play dumb & don't

learn anything new on your own. (1 Star)

Benefits & Perks - Get to play with my colleagues(Chemists) & relive like
a sweet & lovely 15 or 16 years old teen. (4 Stars)

Solution - Hire a psychotherapist to conduct anger management sessions
