Lake Oswego

By Hugo Gonzalez

Pollution is found all over the world, which includes our inland
bodies of waters. Lakes. Pollution gets into the water from toxic
wastes of farms, towns, and factories. There are many solutions to
stop pollution in lakes. One such solution is making a website so
people can learn about the harm caused by pollutants, and what they
can do to help this huge problem. Flyers can be put around the lake or
the city for those who don’t have the technology and can see it when
they are walking. Humans are the cause of pollution and we are the
only ones who can.

Lake Oswego has houses along the water and if there is trash in
the water that is not safe at all for the inhabitants. That is where they
get their water. They shower, drink, and wash their dishes with that
water. Lake Oswego is 2.48 mile long; people can throw trash and
waste all over the lake which causes damage to both the lake and the
many organisms living inside.

There are many laws the government has enforced to protect the
inland waters but despite these laws and levied fines, people still
pollute our waters. There are about nine laws the government has
made. Humans are the only ones who disobey these rules and will
continue to until a drastic change occurs that will actually affect them
such as global warming.

One way to make sure people follow the laws are upping the
stakes for not following them. Community service can clean out the
trash in the lakes and we can help the people who suffer.
