● It’s the first American- made anime to be noticed by Japan
● The series name is made up of the Main characters which are
○ Ruby Rose
○ Weiss Schnee
○ Blake Belladonna
○ Yang Xiao Long
● There are 4 trailers named by color, alluding the 4 girls
● There are currently 6 volumes
● Each character from RWBY is all alluded of something.
○ Ruby Rose alludes to the Little Red Riding Hood
○ Weiss Schnee alludes to Snow White
○ Blake Belladonna Alludes to Belle
○ Yang Xiao Long alludes to Goldie Locks
● The series had opened up to have a couple of LGBT characters. The first person is Ilia Amitola who is lesbian
● The show also had a color rule where every character alluded to color, has a name that is similar to the color and
represents the color
● All of the main characters are currently 19 except for Ruby who is 17 because she was enrolled to Beacon at the age of
15 from her performance against the wanted criminal, Roman Torchwick

● RWBY has released 4 books of each of the main character’s trailer and theme song. They are known as
anthologies
● As of right now, There is another manga online that you can read. It’s about the RWBY world but you can tell
there are some differences between the manga and the Show.
● The Anthology is about the girl's trailers broken down to understand the situation that they were in. Let’s
take Blake for example. Blake was fighting her past when she was in the White Fang with her mentor and
past lover, Adam Taurus. When she left, she had problems opening up to people and live the normal life as a
student of Beacon Academy. She hid her cat ears with a black bow, hiding her faunus heritage.
● Another example could be Weiss Schnee. Weiss is the heiress of the high selling company, The Schnee
Dust Company, She was always highly expected of from her father who married into the family for the name.
○ She wasn’t really able to live the normal life of a child because she had to sing for the audience every
time there was a party.
○ She was grown to have a hatred against the faunus because she saw the people she cared about dead
because the company used faunus labor.
○ She was also grown to be isolated, high confidence, stubborn to her father etc.
