Core team leader. Tuesday evenings socialize with local high school students and lead
icebreaker games. Wednesday evenings socialize with the high school students, help give Bible
talks, then lead a small group.

Virginia Teachers for Tomorrow: Floyd E. Kellam High School, Virginia Beach, VA: 2016-
2018
VTfT is a program to help high school students discern whether teaching is their desired
profession. Consists of 3 semesters of teaching internship, approximately 3 hours a week.
Created lesson plans, led small groups of students, and assisted students with classwork one on
one. Completed internships at Parkway Elementary, a Title I school, in a 2nd grade class and 4th
grade class.

Missioners of Christ Domestic Mission, Core Team: Onley, VA: Summer 2017 and 2018
Week long mission trip on the Eastern Shore. Core team members help harvest local farms and
donate the harvested food to the migrant’s families (typically Spanish or Haitian migrant
workers). Plan and organize Vacation Bible School for the children of migrant workers.
Sponsor a Spanish Catholic Mass in the migrant camps.

8th Grade Retreat, Teen Leader: Christ the King Parish, Norfolk, VA: 2018
Helped plan and organize retreat weeks before. Prepared and delivered a talk to the retreat
participants, led a small group, and ensured my small group was on time to the different retreat
activities.

Kellam Kids Camp, Counselor: Floyd E. Kellam High School, Virginia Beach, VA: Summer
2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018
Camp counselor for the Kellam Drama Kids Camp. Led a group of elementary aged children
from the different daily activities and directed a play that the group performed at the end of the
week.

Summer Reading Program, Volunteer: Parkway Elementary, Virginia Beach, VA: 2016
Met for 2 weeks in the month of July. Assisted students who were considered behind the
average reading level. Read to whole groups of students and met individually with students to
allow them to practice their reading skills.

Awards: VTfT Future Teacher Contract, Recipient: Virginia Beach, VA: 2018
After being a member of VTfT as well as completing an application and interview process I was
selected to receive the Future Teacher Contract. After completing college and attaining a
teaching license Virginia Beach City Public Schools guarantees a teaching position.

Educators Rising National Competition, 2nd Place Winner: Phoenix, AZ: 2017
Because awarded 1st place in the state competition advanced to the national level. Delivered a
presentation based off of the same shadowing experiences and was awarded 2nd place.

Educators Rising State Competition, 1st Place Winner: Manassas, VA: 2017
Shadowed the principal of a local elementary school. Once completing 15 hours of shadowing,
created a presentation based upon what was learned. Delivered the presentation and was judged
against other high school students who also shadowed school administrators. Presentation was
awarded 1st place.

Worked for a local family business. Received whole sale products of screws, closet rods, draw
slides, hinges, etc. then packaged the specific pieces requested by the customers and sent out
daily shipments.
