SCHOOL BASED EXAM SIMULATION
SCIENCE

Name: ________________
Class: 6 ___

Purpose: to create two circuits: (1 series and 1 parallel circuit) with provided materials and
analyze the properties of each circuit.
Guiding questions:
1 How can I build a parallel circuit?
2.__________________________________________________________________
3.__________________________________________________________________
4.__________________________________________________________________
5.__________________________________________________________________

Hypothesis:(What do you think will happen?) What will the difference be between the
parallel circuit and the series circuit in terms of brightness of the bulb? What is the
correlation between one lamp and another in each circuit?

Materials:

 Infra board
 Wire
 9-volt battery
 Light bulbs
 Tape
 Scissors
Directions
First circuit:
1. Prepare all the materials.
2. Cut the wire into several pieces
3. Take a look at the circuit below.
4. On your infra board, arrange the circuit.
5. Connect the lightbulb to the battery using the wires.
6. Attach one of the wires to the positive terminal of the battery and wind the other end
around the side of one of the lightbulbs.
7. Attach one of the wires to the negative terminal of the battery and wind the other
end around the side of one of the lightbulbs.
8. Connect the bulbs.

Second circuit:
1. Prepare all the materials.
2. Cut the wire into several pieces
3. Take a look at the circuit below.
4. On your infra board, arrange the circuit.
5. Connect the lightbulbs to the battery using the wires.
6. Attach one of the wires to the positive terminal of the battery and wind the other end
around the left side of one of the lightbulbs.
7. Attach one of the wires to the negative terminal of the battery and wind the other
end around the left side of one of the lightbulbs.
