To meet the evolving demands of end user service
requirements, it is imperative that broadband access
networks be able to provide the necessary bandwidth.
The Passive Optical Network can meet increasing
bandwidth demands; and at the same time extend
the access range to increase residential coverage.
The architecture is carefully designed to enable the
reduction of access network CAPEX and OPEX costs.
UTStarcom’s FTTx platform, i.e. BBS1000+ and
BBS4000, fully utilizes all the advantages of the PON
technology. It is designed for telecom operators and
1 broadband service providers to deliver quality of service
broadband connections to the end user, enabling a wide
range services and applications, such as High Definition
IPTV, Video on demand and high-speed data.

Flexible Deployment Options
UTStarcom’s FTTx product portfolio fits the needs of
carriers planning for all types of deployment scenarios.
The BBS4000 provides a modular chassis based on
a high density, highly reliable FTTx solution for CO
deployments. The BBS1000+, provides a compact (1U)
system for flexible deployments. The iAN8K B1000 CX
provides a medium density compact chassis based on
platforms for Remote FTTC/FTTN deployments. The
iAN8K B110 and iAN8K B120 provide a compact (1U)
system for FTTB deployment.
Preserving Equipment CAPEX
The iAN8K B1000 CX system provides carriers with
the flexibility to deploy Fiber in green field applications
and xDSL to reuse existing copper infrastructure. Thus
carriers can also take full advantage of existing space
which facilitates a smooth migration to a fiber network
in the future.
Scalable Bandwidth Applications
FTTx Products provide flexible bandwidth options with
guaranteed QoS , enabling a range of services to the
end users.
The BBS4000 is capable of delivering non blocking 1
Gbps bandwidth per fiber. It also supports a flexible
concentration ratio for the uplinks, as well as supporting
up to 64 splits per fiber. Thus the carrier is provided with
an option rich platform to serve varying customer needs
on a single platform. It also supports the capability to
scale bandwidth as the need arises.
BBS1000+, iAN8K B1000 CX, B110 and B120 platforms
provide varying amounts of bandwidth per user
depending on the deployment scenario.

With up to 1024 Multicast groups, sub 50ms Channel

Zapping Delays, and an efficient multi-layer multicast
architecture, it provides the most advanced IPTV friendly
feature set in the industry.

VoIP Support

iAN8K B1000 CX and B120 platforms support system

based VoIP solutions. A rich range of ONUs provides
user premises based VoIP services, enabling carriers to
provide VoIP services to users when necessary.
