2019-2020 Try-Out Video Information 

PHS Cheer will ​ONLY ​be accepting video tryouts for the 
2019-2020 season. Video tryout submissions will be reviewed upon 
submission and must be submitted by the deadline. The team 
members will be posted by ​noon on APRIL 26​.   
Video Tryout Submissions due by April 24th at 5pm 
 

Video Tryout Requirements: 

● Current Physical on File at PHS 
● Video must be taped on grass or bare floor (No 
Spring Floor) 
● Little to no distractions in background or around you 
during tryout process. 
● Clear view of you throughout entire video 
● Does not have to be professionally made. Clean, 
steady, good sound/video quality 
 

Video Tryout Attire: 

Female Cheerleaders  Male Cheerleaders 
Black or Blue Cheer Shorts  Solid Black or Blue Athletic Shorts 
Plain White T-Shirt (graphics to the minimum)  Plain White T-Shirt (graphics to the minimum) 
Cheer Shoes  Athletic Shoes/Cheer Shoes 
Hair in high ponytail with bow  Clean Shaven 
 

Video Tryout format: 

Section 1:  Section 2: Jumps & Jumps  Section 2: Chant   Section 3:  Section 4: 
Introduction  to Skill  (Be Sharp)  Cheer  Dance 

Introduce Yourself  Right hurdler, Toe Touch  Chant should include  Perform the cheer  Perform the 
Name  Left Hurdler, Pike  motions/voice only  dance 
Grade  Double Toe Touch to Skill  Perform the sideline chant 

Tumbling​--Tumbling is not required but is highly encouraged and may be a deciding factor in the tryout process. Please 
include your best standing skills and your best running skills.
