On friday, November 23, 2018, an interview was conducted as one of the

requirements of Grade 12-Katmon students for their business subject. The six
members of group 1 in entrepreneurship interviewed a licensed professional in the
interesting field of business which is the Motorstar Company.
Motorstar is a motorcycle company that primarily sells two wheels vehicle. It is
owned by a chinese entrepreneur Mr. Lu Yang and managed by Mr. Benson John Roxas
who is the operating manager of the business. Motorstar is one of the fastest
growing partnership business which is operated for 15 years. The students
preferred to take this enterprise to be the reference about business management as
this business is one of the biggest and successful motorcycle company that can be
found not only in Calapan City but also to the other neighboring places in the
country. They believe that having a face to face interview with the owner of
motorstar Company will bring them the true essence of running a business.
Unfortunately, when the interviewers arrived in the location for the interview
something negative happened unexpectedly. The students haven't met the chinese
owner of the enterprise because of his full business schedule with his investors
outside the country that is the reason why the interviewers take the privilege to
make Mr. Roxas to be their interviewee because at the first place,he is capable
enough to deliver information which regards to their business and he has enough
knowledge about the operation of the business as he was the one who is incharge of
managing the company for a long time.
Based on the interview,students found out that the operating manager really have
a passion about business specifically about motorcycle.According to Mr. Roxas,
the business preferred to manage at Lalud, Calapan City near Luna Goco Colleges
because that area have lots of inquiry and greater number of population.Actually,
they have several branches not only in Calapan City but also in other places here
in the Philippines. He managed their business by means of good decision making and
doing researches about some techniques and other propagandas to maintain sales. On
the other hand, man power is also important when it comes to business matter. As
an operating manager, he took good care of his employees.He treats them as family
and not just as subordinates because for him good companionship can build up a
better industry especially in business matter. He is able to circulate the profit
and capital by means of planning and managing outcomes of collection and
monitoring of the accounts. The advantages of the business among other competitors
are the costumer satisfaction and quality motorcycle. But like other businesses,
they also encountered biggest threat/risk on their business. One of the most
challenging situation that he experienced is when the customer moved to other
provinces or other country but they didn't pay their balances. But at the end of
the day, he believed that this kind of struggle is just a half part of sacrifices
in relation with business. "When you decided to enter in the business world, you
are willing to learn how to solve existing problem".he said. As mentioned earlier,
he has a good connection with his employees and at the same time ,he is capable in
maintaining good relationship with his costumer. He provided their needs like the
registration of motor vehicle and he is able to work things out between costumer
and the business. The business mostly affect his daily living because there are
times that he got pressure and when he didn't maintain his target, it affects the
entire district.But as an entrepreneur who is dedicated with his work, he never
gave up on it, instead, he find ways to turn negative into a positive one.His
business improved the quality of his life. For him, this business will remains as a
business but with desired goals and prosperity in the near future. He expects that
this motor company will remain stable and will attain maximize sales.

"To be a successful businessman, you need to be patient enough to handle things

and to work things out", Mr. Roxas said. Mr.Benson John Roxas, an operating manager
is the one who proved that business really matters.
