FABRIC REQUIREMENTS & SUPPLIES

You will need three to four different woven, non-elastic cotton fabrics (each 20 cm or 8“) for the top piece, bottom outer fabric,
box pleats, and lining. In addition you need a 20 cm / 8“ long zipper (measured between zipper beginning and end) or alternati-
vely an endless zipper cut to 22 cm or 8 ¾“. To decorate your pouch you can add lace and other embellishments.

SEAM ALLOWANCE & SEWING LEVEL

SPECIAL SEWING CONSIDERATIONS

If you wish a bit more stiffness in your bag, you can use a fusible fleece (e. g. Pellon #987F) but it is not necessary if you use a
thicker fabric since the box pleats and sewn corners add volume.

You have to be very exact with the seam allowance when sewing the box pleats. If you deviate e.g. by 2 mm (1/8“) per seam, the
pattern piece will become almost 2,4 cm (1“) longer.
