The noun is the subject. It tells who or what the sentence is about (dogs, Dr. Zerin, Freedom Park). The verb tells what action the subject is doing (run, listens, opened) imple sentences Name Look at this example that shows how to diagram a simple sentence. First you draw a horizontal line.
