• Searching for associated tasks

• When a task becomes unresponsive you can perform a search to identify all associated tasks in the CICSplex.
Using the search results you can identify the task that is causing the problem, and other tasks that will be affected
when you take corrective action. An associated task is one that has the same NETUOWID or TRNGRPID.
• 1) Identify the unresponsive task using the Tasks view.

• 2) Right-click the task and click Search > Associated Tasks.
• Results
• The results are displayed in the Search view. The view shows all associated tasks. Review the tasks to determine
the probable cause of the wait and take corrective action.
• The layout of the task in the Search view depends on the information that is available for the tasks. In the first screen capture you can see
the following information:
• The three tasks in the view are all related, that is they have the same NETUOWID or TRNGRPID.
• Task 0000344contains previous hop data indicating that it was started by task 0093712, so task 0000344 is indented to indicate the parent-
child relationship.
• Task 0093711 is greyed out indicating that the task is no longer running.
• In the second screen capture you can see the following information:
• All three tasks in the view are related, that is they have the same NETUOWID or TRNGRPID.
• There is no previous hop data so it is not possible to identify any parent-child relationships between the tasks.
