Several variations at different conditions made in this experiment using the

course and fine aggregates to determine the specific gravity and absorption

After sieving he course aggregates was place in the oven for drying in 2 hours.
The weight of it was reduced, then sample was submerged to water for 24 hours. The
decreased in the weight of a course aggregates from its surface dry condition to oven
dry condition was compute that 30 grams of moisture content was being remove in
surface dry gravel. There were seven grams of moisture content was acquired in the
fine aggregate sample from air dry condition as the added water was being evaporated.

Conclusion

Consequently, students distinguished that the value of the specific gravity differs
from each other because of the different mass obtained in different conditions and the
weight of an aggregate under SSD condition and oven-dry condition affects the
absorption capacity.
