Dear Mr. Drake

It had always been great living in the city of Denton where there was so much to do to get out of
the house. I had always been pretty happy about where I lived as well. However, lately, I have
come across something that has been reoccurring within the city that has been affecting many
residents: construction delays. I am hopeful that you can help me solve this issue before it
continues.
It doesn’t surprise me that there is more construction than usual in Denton because of the
overwhelming rate at which the city is growing. Though, it is shocking to see exactly just how
much construction there is going on all at once. In a circle of just 4 miles wide, there are a total
of 47 construction projects according to the city of Dentons website (Construction Project
Report). The residents of Denton are experiencing unnecessary traffic caused by the number of
delays put on these projects.
Research proves that nothing positive comes from construction project delay times. “Delays are
very costly and should be avoided if at all possible” (Riddell). Not only are they costly, but they
also tend to make traffic caused by the construction last even longer than it should. The residents
of Denton should not have to go through this on such a large scale.
I believe that something needs to be done about this in order to better the lives of the people that
are living in Denton. Between lessening the number of projects that are going on at once, to
making sure these projects are going according to schedule, these are both things that members
of the attorney’s office can help put into action. I hope you will join me in the effort of
mitigating construction delay times.

Sincerely,

Blake Seymore
