Dear Human Resources:

My name is Morgan Dougherty. I am currently a senior at Washington and Lee University. I am

double majoring in Politics and Strategic Communication. Through my academic courses and
previous industry experience, I have become a creative problem solver who can support brand
initiatives with strong analytic capabilities.

I have much experience interpreting data and consumer trends. Through my previous internship
at FOX Home Team Sports in the Digital Sales Department, I learned how to organize a vast
amount of information into a concise excel spreadsheet, analyze target demographics, and
conduct market research. Additionally, through my applied statistics class, I am able to fully
interpret a data set to extract relevant trends. These skills will allow me to precisely provide data
and background research on relevant partners and upcoming opportunities.

Furthermore, I have previous exposure to the Marketing industry. Last summer, I interned at
J.McLaughlin in their Brand Marketing Department. During my time at J.McLaughlin, I
conducted competitive analysis research, completed a S.W.O.T analysis of the brand’s digital
marketing strategies, coordinated influencers, and helped run the social media account.

As a student athlete at Washington and Lee, I know how to manage my time wisely and always
meet deadlines. I have also learned that teamwork is the most important factor in winning games,
promoting a positive group atmosphere, and succeeding in a professional environment.
