Included are flanges, fitings, valves, and similar parts to specifiod dimensions or to dimensional standards, such as the ASME. specifications that are referenced in Section 2. 1.2 For bars and products machined directly from bar (other than those directly addvessed by this specification; see 6.4), refer 10 Specifications A479/AN79M snd A739 forthe similar _rades available in those specifications, Products made to this specification are limited to @ maximum weight of 10 000 Ib [4540 Kgl. For larger products and products for other applications, refer to Specifications A33G/A336M and A96S/ AQ6SM for the similar ferritic and austenitic grades, respectively, available in those specifications 1.3 Several grades of low alloy stools and fortitc, ‘martensitic, austenitic, and foritic-austenitic stainless stels are included in this specification. Selection will depend upon Gesign and service requirements. Several of the feritic! austenitic (duplex) grades are also found in Specification ‘A1089/A1049M, 1.4 Supplementary requirements are provided for use when addtional testing or inspection is desited. These shall apply only sehen specified individually by the purchaser inthe order. 15 This specification is expressed in both inch-pound units and in SI units, However, unless the order specifies the applicable “M" specification designation (SI units), the rate- ‘al shall be furnished to igck-pound unit, nd Parts for High-Temperature 1.6 The values stated in either St units or incb-pound units ae to be regarded separately as the standard. Within the text, the SI units are shown in brackets. The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in non-conformance with the standard, 2, Referenced Documents 2.1 Tnadltion to the referenced documents listed in S fication A9GI/A96IM, the following lst of standards apply to this specification 2.2 ASTM Standards: ‘A262 Practices for Detecting Susceptibility to Intergranular ‘Attack in Austenitic Stainless Steels AZTSVA275M Practice for Magnetic Particle Examination of Steel Forgings| AS36/A336M Specification for Alloy Stee!
