Group Sessions

Clients with particular learning or personality styles prefer group and

social interaction.
- clients often learn from each other aside from the counselor.
- this approach is usually more economical.
The counselor can work with a small or large group and can use
overhead transparencies, filmstrips and tapes, or videotapes to present
material.
The use of group session does not preclude offering individual
sessions, if a client needs further help in processing the information.
Written Reports
Schools often provide parents with interpretative reports of their
children’s performance on survey achievement testing.
Some students and parents have problems reading and understanding
test reports, so simple language is required.
Many written reports present profiles of scores that are helpful
for test takers who have difficulty visualizing test results.

Some individuals find written reports impersonal and have

aversions to them.
