This isa fallacy. From the vedic times, Indians had been in the avant-garde of Mathematics, metallurgy and science, Science in India is what itis today because of the dedicated work of our scientists, in mathematics, physical and natural sciences, medicine and so on, ‘We should seek knowledge from all over the word, but we should develop cour own knowedge. Now-a-days there are ratings given for universities We do not know what isthe basis ofthis rating, Madras Univesity was respected outside because of Ramenujan whose abilities were recognized by a British mathematician, | do not know what is the rating of the Kerala Engineering College or Coimbatore Engineering College in international ratings, All that we know is the students of these universities have set a standard that will be very dificult for the alumini of the universities elsewhere to achieve nat to speak of surpassing ur scientists have given the courage to develop on our own. The cakulations of the scientists are so perfect that the very first attempt was a success, Call the scientists what you want ~ physicists, chemists or mathematicians. We are proud of our scientists. We call on our students to develop their faculties in every branch. We should proudly say — we had ‘our training in India and we shall keep our flag up. We have chosen this topic for Maths, because the success of our Mission to Mars is equally due to perfect calculations of our scientists, Anil Ahlawat Editor Subscribe ontne a worw.mnt.in Individual Subscription Rates ‘Combined Subscription Rates Tye Dyes. The aim of [Maths Musing is to augment the chances of bright students seeking admission into ITs with adaltional study material ‘During tho last 10 years thore have been several changes in JEE pattern. To sult these changes Maths Musing also adopted the new pattern by changing the style of problems. Some of the Maths Musing problems have been adapted in JEE benefiting thousand of our readers. It is heartening that we receive sokitions of Maths Musing problems from ail over India. Maths Musing has been receiving tremendous response from canoldates preparing for JEE and teachers coaching them. We do hope that students will continue to use Maths Musing to boost up their ranks in JEE Main and Advanced. Prof. Or.
