Title : United States Democracy Promotion: During Bush Administration

Abstract: The September 11th 2001 attacks, the continuation of international sanctions against
Iraq imposed by the United Nation, hectic violence between Israelis and Palestinians, the
authoritarian government with structural violence committed by high levels leaders, clearly
shows that the governance system in the middle east was unstable and requires change to ensure
its impact does not result in continuing political and economic stagnation. leading to the
limitation in politics, economic and social development. As genuine democratization can
produce a comprehensive, transparent, and participatory government, promoting democracy is
the key to the United States (US) foreign policy objectives of the Bush administration. US stands
as the principle promoter of democracy in the world. The research problem of the study is to
examine what is the precise role or place of middle east democracy promotion policy in the US
and how US implement its foreign policy in ensuring democratic security and conflict prevention
in middle east?. On the basis of those questions, the paper concludes with recommendations for
US policy.
