Dear Malcolm,

I was born in the Philippines on July 27, 2000 and I moved to America when I was just 5

years old, thinking I was just going to be here for vacation. Turns out it became a permanent

vacation and now I’m going to college at UNCC. I lived a pretty fair childhood and adolescent

life, my family consists of my mom and dad and my older sister, who is just a year older than

me. I was the youngest, the baby in the family. I lived through the typical life of most people’s

life, like learning how to ride a bike, how to read and write, experiencing first kiss, first love, and

the ability to understand how the world/society works and how complex the human mind and

emotions functions.

I am a very open person, I am very social when I am surrounded with people I love and

comfortable with. I love hiking and traveling to different places. I do not like reading but I only

love reading when it’s the books I pick. My overall favorite book is The Great Gatsby. I am a

movie junkie, I love to watch movies that I am interested in watching, I do not have a favorite

movie because I will have a lot if I do. With the knowledge that I hope this writing class gives

me. I hope to develop a great writing skill, I hope to let my creativity run free and I hope to make

mistakes and learn from them.

Sincerely, Patrisha Galvan
