Strengthening arises as a result of the mismatch between the atomic sizes of these dements and that of ion, 3.29 zinc-iron alloy, n—a dull grey coating with no spangle pattem that is produced on bot-dip zine-coated steel sheet 29.1 Discussion—Zine-iton alloy coating is composed tntrely of inter-metallic alloys. It is typically produced by sabjecting the hot-dip zinc-coated steel sheet to a thermal treatment after it emerges from the molten zinc bath, This type coating is suitable for immediate painting without futher treatment except normal cleaning (refer to Guide D 2092). Tae luck of ductility of the alloy coating presents a potential for powering, et. 4 Classification 4.1 The material is available in several designations as flows: 4.11 Commercial steel (CS Types A, B, and C), 4.1.2 Forming steel (FS Types A and B), 4.13 Deep drawing steel (DDS), 414 Extra deep drawing steel (EDDS), 4.15 Structural steel (SS), 4.16 High strength low alloy steel (HSLAS Type A). 4.17 High strength low alloy steel (HSLAS Type B). 4.18 Solution hardened steel (SHS), and 41.9 Bake hardenable steel (BHS) 42 Structural steel, high strength low alloy steel, solution burdened steel, and bake hardenable steel are available in ‘eral grades based on mechanical properties. Structural Steel Gade 50 [340] is available in four classes based on tensile eng 43 The material is available as either zinc-coated or zine: ina alloy-couted in several coating weights [masses] or cating designations as shown in Table 1, and 43.1 The material is available with the same or different ssting designations on cach surface. 25 (fl a 653/A 653M - 04a 5.
