The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Fi Blood Cancer: Dear Families, Next week, your child will be embarking on an exhilarating and meaningful journey, one that will offer him or her a chance to experience that powerful feeling that results from helping others. April 22" to Tuesday, April 30" Schroeder Elementary School will be The Olive Garden's, Pasta for Pennies® program, benefitting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LS). Pasta for Pennies is a service learning program in which kids collect spare change to help those affected with blood cancer. ‘We are thrilled to participate in this important initiative ~ an ambitious undertaking that would not be possible without the participation and enthusiasm of our generous school community. Your child’s class will receive a cardboard box to fill with pennies or other U.S. coins from home. The class that collects the heaviest amount of coins will win an Olive Garden Pasta Party. “NOTE: YOU MUST UNROLL THE COINS BEFORE SENDING THEM TO SCHOOL."** Thanks to LLS funded research and the fundraising effort of programs like Pasta for Pennies, survival rates for some blood cancer patients have doubled, tripled, and even quadrupled. Please help us to continue to aid in saving lives! To make an additional personal donation, you may send cash or a check, payable to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
