I am pleased to recommend Tyrin Herr for this scholarship. I have had the pleasure of knowing Mr. Herr as his
11th grade PreCalculus teacher.

As a student, Mr. Herr is hardworking, patient, and often quick-witted. He is often willing to work through a
challenge on his own, but is still open to asking questions or for help if he needs it. He also works very well
with his peers. These qualities, along with the proper education and training, would make Mr. Herr a valued
member of the medical community. A scholarship to help fund his education would help in his goal.

During his time at El Capitan, Mr. Herr has been a welcoming part of the campus community. He has been a
member of our school volleyball team, earning recognition as most improved player during his sophomore
year. Mr. Herr has also given back over 70 hours of his time to the community in various ways, including as a
peer mentor. Despite his many commitments both on campus and at home, Mr. Herr has maintained a 3.5
GPA. This demonstrates his work ethic, time management, and commitment to his education. Mr. Herr will
make an excellent member of the medical community, provided he has the opportunity to get the education
and training he will need. A scholarship would help fund his education, and help ensure that he can make the
most his chosen program has to offer.
