This is an older posting from about 5 years ago. I wanted to look at this specifically because it is
closely related to something that I am interested in and would like to pursue in the future. This is
a job posting for WWE in Stamford Connecticut for an archivist and I have been a fan of the
product for almost all of my life. I believe my knowledge and passion for the business would be
an added factor in my ability to create powerful collections and grow their archives with
promising content.

JOB POSTING 2
This is a job posting for a Digital Archivist position at The Space Telescope Science Institute at
Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD.The posting was created on August 9, 2017 and
focuses primarily on archives and records of data found with the Hubble space telescope. This is
a full time position. The employee is expected to fulfill requirements such as proficiency in
various digital preservation and archival software. Some software include Preservica,
Archivematica, Open Archive, or Archon. Applicants are also required to work both
independently and in group settings. An ALA accredited Master’s degree in Library
Science/Information Science is required for this position, along with a concentration in Archives.
2 years of experience managing an archival program within an institution should also be noted as
candidates apply for the position. Knowledge of astronomical materials and resources is
preferred, but not necessarily a requirement.

Some job duties include managing daily logs, collecting records, supervision of other workers,
archival expense monitoring, and system upgrades. Salary estimate appears to be from 30,000
and up. It is not clearly written in the job posting, but similar positions are noted as such, and
this was also found in the $30.000 category. If you are passionate about space sciences as well as
information science this would be an excellent place to apply. Although I may not necessarily be
a fan of astronomy, the job type is what interested me. I found that these same skills and duties
could be applied to a variety of jobs, or help someone create their own job.
