David has served our school with multiple responsibilities. David delivered superb ability with assisting and accommodating students with special nceds while teaching elaborate lessons without direction. Homewood Flossmoor High School isa 3 time Blue Ribbon Award winner for its dedication and David James contributed to our goals ‘and mission statement of our Blue Ribbon school. Mr. James provides direct instruction to grades nine through twelve with students who have special needs. As a teacher that David works alongside, it has been ‘my good fortune to work closely with Mr. James throughout the course of his experience here at Homewood Flossmoor High Schoo! David James is a skillful, conscientious, dedicated teacher, paraprofessional and substitute throughout the districts curricular areas who thoroughly understands how children lear He has a wealth of experience from working with students from a variety of cultural backgrounds and educational systems. David is an expert at the use of different multi-sensory, structured programs. In the classroom, he brings his experience and excellent intuition ebout students by focusing on cach student as an individual, Ina very natural and caring fashion he sets about finding the natural balance of reassurance and challenge each of them need...and they respond! David's ability to role model the passion to be a life long learner carries to his students in the classroom. Thave been a witness to countless examples of how the timid or less than confident young adolescent has been helped to become an outgoing, enthusiastic learner by virtue of the support David has supplied. 1 believe his success with struggling learners is rooted in his ability to support them not only academically but emotionally as well. David notices the small things thet matter with each child, clebrating their accomplishments, comforting them when necessary and instiling in them the belief that they matter. He is amazingly patient with the students, allowing each to lear at the rate they can and enlists classroom. teachers and parents in the effort to do likewise. Mr, James's efforts routinely make the difference. Young children who have already discovered that school is hard, that leaming doesn’t come easy and that other chitdren are “smarter, better and faster” find success and a reason to come to schoo! in David's classroom. Besides his ability to supply high quality meaningful instruction to students, David's expertise has allowed us to rely on his in a variety of ways. Regardless of what is asked of him, David has always been gracious in offering his support and expertise in our department. He works in support of students, parents and teachers professionally and willingly. Therefore, his contributions are many and we have all been made better by his actions.
