My name is Robby Meldau and I am principal at Eisenhower Center

For Innovation, an elementary school in the Mesa Unified School District. It was my pleasure to

have Adrian Vega work as our safe and healthy schools manager and Playworks site lead at our

school during the course of the last year. Due to our time and experience together, I am

convinced that Adrian will be an exceptional teacher.

During his time at our school, Adrian was exposed to some incredibly talented

educators. He spent time coordinating with highly effective teachers and familiarizing himself

with the Playworks philosophy. His work at our school also exposed him to positive behavior

interventions . AVID strategies and college-bound culture, social-emotional learning experiences,

and restorative justice practices were all part of his work with us. All of this experience will serve

Adrian well as part of his transition to full time teacher.

Adrian also demonstrated an ability to connect with our students at ECFI. Teachers and

other staff members frequently commented on Adrian's ability to manage and support our

students, even those who tended to struggle the most in different settings. Adrian was proactive,

easy to manage, and solutions-oriented. He frequently came up with great ideas and answers to

problems with little need of guidance or support from me. Most importantly, Adrian has already

been a positive influence in many students' lives. I am confident he will continue to have this

impact if given an opportunity at your school.
