Description of artifact/assignment:

My Boys state award I received from American Legion.

Why did you choose this as one of your artifacts/assignments?

I chose this artifact because it was hard earned and I believe it represents quite a bit about
myself.

What academic skills did you use that are specific to this artifact/assignment?

Focus and dedication to a goal which I set forth. I always wanted to put forth my best effort in
school in whatever way is possible.

What general academic skills did you use (skills that would be used in any academic class)?

I listened and learned when a task was explained to me. I also have a strong work ethic when I
don’t have a case of senioritis.

Did you see growth in your targeted soft skills through the course of working on this
Artifact/Assignment? Explain.

In the pre course of receiving this award looking back I see how I grew as a scholar and how my
focus became solely focused on one purpose which was school.

Provide an example of how these academic and/or soft skills are used in a career in which you
are interested.
The Soft skills I chose to work on were having a positive attitude and Conflict Resolution. As I
am one of the many people in this world who struggle with in this world. When, you have
anxiety often times most of your thoughts are negative. Which, is why I have chosen to focus on
maintaining a positive attitude. As I’m beginning to learn, living a positive life is much better
than living a negative one. Conflict Resolution is another one I want to focus on because as a
person I have a big mouth. So, I often have to solve problems.
