FATHER: Honey, what is the matter?
AUDREY: Imagine Mom won’t let me use the phone! I mean it’s just
homework! Ugh, it’s like
homework ever got anyone anywhere. NKT.
FATHER: You know maybe if you just listened to us every once in a while
then you wouldn’t be
this upset.
AUDREY: Ugh but why? It’s not like what you tell me helps in any way.
FATHER: [now with an angry tone] Audrey we are doing the best we can to
raise you. Why can’t you listen to us Audrey we are your elders!
AUDREY: I wouldn’t consider a 42 year old with the IQ of a toddler’s shoe
size my elder. Now
please, if you will, get out.
FATHER: [Looking and feeling defeated] Okay. But one day you’ll look back
on all of this and be
full of regrets.
[AUDREY ROLLS HER EYES. MOTHER COMES TO THE ROOM
ALREADY KNOWING THAT THE FATHER HAS BEEN DEFEATED]
MOTHER: You know you are such a funny husband. As in you are here being
bossed around by a
girl. You should be authoritative! You are the father of this house.
Ah! They should
even make a parenting school for people like you.
[BOTH PARENTS LEAVE THE ROOM AS TONY
ENTERS THE ROOM]
TONY: [Asks politely] Audrey, can I please borrow your charger?
AUDREY: You have your own charger. Use it.
TONY: [Looks down and seems almost ashamed] I lost my charger.
AUDREY: Oh my God you are so careless. Go ask Mom for a charger and
stop disturbing me!
TONY: But sharing is caring.
AUDREY: [Mockingly imitates Tony] But sharing is caring. Yes. I agree with
you. Sharing is caring, if you care.
[MOTHER ENTERS THE ROOM WITH AN IRRITATED
EXPRESSION ON HER FACE]
MOTHER: Ah! Now what?
TONY: Mom imagine Audrey does not want to give me her charger.

MOTHER: Audrey give him the charger! You are not even using it right now!

AUDREY: [rolls her eyes and folds her arms]

MOTHER: Ah! I can’t continue with the chaos in this house! I’m going shopping.

FATHER: Oh I’m so glad you are here.

TONY: Dad what is wrong with mom?

FATHER: She’s just a little sick but she’ll be fine. Audrey could you just put that phone down for a

Second? Please.
AUDREY: [Speaking in a rude way] Why?
FATHER: [Starting to get angry] Because your mother is sick in hospital! For
crying out loud, put
that phone down for once in your life!
AUDREY: You only said she was a little bit sick so why do I need to act so
supportive?
FATHER: Because she’s more than a little bit sick ok! This isn’t just one of
those colds you see
every once in a while! She has a concussion and might not even
survive! So please just
put that phone down and for once just listen!
[AUDREY DROPS HER PHONE AND COVERS HER MOUTH IN SHOCK AS
TONY REMAINS IN THE BACKGROUND CONFUSED]
TONY: Dad, what’s a concuu…. Concuuu….. that thing?

sorry. Please come
Back. I promise I’ll be a better child just please don’t leave me.
[THE FATHER AND TONY WALK IN AND FIND AUDREY CRYING. THE
FATHER AND TONY COMFORT AUDREY ALSO HOLDING IN THEIR
TEARS. SUDDENLEY, THE MOTHER WAKES UP. ALL OF THEM ARE
SURPRISED AT FIRST BUT THEN BECOME HAPPY THAT SHE IS AWAKE.
THE FATHER RUSHES TO CALL THE DOCTOR]
[SOUNDTRACK STOPS]
MOTHER: [Wakes up still feeling dizzy] What happened?
[THE DOCTOR COMES IN]
DOCTOR: Miss, I’m sorry to inform you that you have a concussion but all
you need to do is stay here for a few days till it heals. You’ll be fine.
FATHER: Thank you so much doctor.
Doctor: Anytime.
[THE MOTHER NOW BECOMES FULLY STABLE AND TURNS TO
AUDREY]
MOTHER: You know none of this would have happened if you had just
respected me in the first
place.
AUDREY: [feeling very ashamed and disappointed in herself] Mom I’m sorry.
Please forgive me, I
Promise I’ll be a better person. Please, forgive me.
MOTHER: Audrey of course I’ll forgive you. The only reason I may seem over
protective
sometimes is because I’m trying to protect you just like any
other loving parent out
there. Your dad and I love you and want the best for you.
AUDREY: Thanks.
MOTHER: Never underestimate those around you. You never know when
you’ll need them the
Most.

THE END.
