Therefore, new and improved metrics for measuring students’ aptitude need to
be developed.
 
Luke: Standardized Tests are Necessary, and Don’t Need to be Changed
Standardized tests are crucial for measurements of students’ readiness for
college. It is
not perfect, but it is essential and it needs to stay.   
 
Warda: Standardized Tests Need to be Modified
Even though standardized testing is helpful in measuring and comparing
students from all
around the world, they need to be modified in order to accommodate everyone
fairly.
 
James: Standardized Tests Should be Thrown Out
Standardized tests are unfair and ineffective at providing an accurate
representation of a
students ability.  Their realistic function contradicts their main purpose and
they need to go.

The media is ridden with stories of unethical practices involving standardized tests. Are
standardized tests the best way to measure students’ aptitude when applying for college?
The recent college scandal has brought this issue back on the surface. Stories about
answers being leaked and instructors being paid have taken over the internet, but how
exactly are these scandals impacting the reliability of standardized testing?
