To Whom It May Concern:
| am writing to recommend Citlaly Chavez for your consideration. Citialy is one of our top students and is heavily
involved in activities at school and in the community. She is a determined and confident student. | admire her
hard work and motivation for excellence. Her success does not end with academics, however. She is a mentor
and advocate for her fellow students, especially STEM-focused female peers. The most convincing element for
me is that she succeeds and maintains her high marks while managing time-consuming family obligations.
Citlaly has taken the most rigorous courses we offer and done very well. She has taken six University of Utah
concurrent enrollment classes totaling over 20 credit hours. She has also taken almost all of our STEM classes
including Robotics, Computer Programming, Computer Repair, and Engineering. She has served our school in
many leadership positions with our STEM related programs including our Technology Student Association (TSA)
and Skills USA. As a member of the Mechanical Division of her team, she won several awards at the FIRST
Robotics Competition in 2015 and 2016.
Citlaly’s leadership goes above and beyond and continues to impress me. She founded and has led our school’s,
‘Model United Nations team including all funding and recruitment efforts. Because of her hard work in
leadership and aptitude for STEM, she has been a CodeNow Mentor, the Northern Utah Winner and National
Honorable Mention for the NCWIT Aspirations in Computing program and was awarded the Boeing Scholarship
to the Embry Riddle Summer Program in 2018.
Citlaly provides guided mentorship forall students, but gives special preference to female students wanting to
excel in the STEM field. She has been active on the SheTech Student Panel and the Women Tech Council. She
has also served on the Student Board of the Surefire Girls Conference in 2017. Along with all these wonderful
outreach programs, she serves on the teen council for Planned Parenthood educating and advocating for all
women.
Citlaly will go far with anything she will pursue in her future. | encourage you to accept her as one of your top
candidates. She will continue to excel in leadership and advocate for all students. She will be a success in her
plans to work in Engineering and continue advocating for equality in the STEM fields.
Sincerely,
WePlubes
