OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE:


This subject explores of leaders and managers peculiarities in the organization, their role in the
organizational development, in the strategy and innovation application, and also in the employee
management. The key attention focused on types of leadership, identification of the types of leaders’
behavior within the organizations, the conduct their behavioral strategies, intentions and goals in the
external and internal environment, to study the impact on the formation of the organizational structure,
strategy development, unexpected changes, conflicts, and adherence management response and other
management technology. This course teaches management relationships in the organization, teaches
how to build leadership and manager skills, and how to use the skills and capabilities.

Attendance: Lecturers are supposed to monitor the attendance and put an absence mark (qb - qaib) if
a student is absent at the class. If a student is present, lecturer is supposed to mark him/her with (ie-
iştirak edir) at the table.
Attendance: "ab" (absent) is written for students who are not present at the beginning and at the end of
the lesson; for students enrolled from the beginning to the end, "at" (attending) is written. The number
of Absent influences the student's success (regulated by the government), so that an attendance point
is deducted for every 10% skip.

HOURS AT CLASS:
Students who miss more than 25% of class will not be let sit at the final exam ( Order of the
Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan Republic, decision # 348 of the Cabinet of Ministers dated on
December 24, 2013).
 Midterm will be made of 4 open questions.
 Final examination will consist of 5 practical open questions.

5 practic questions will be given for the final exam. All questions will be cumulative, integrated and
logically consistent. Questions are not distributed among students. If this case is detected, the
lecturer bears the full responsibility.

Final assessment of graduate students over the course (decision of Cabinet of Ministers #75 dated on
April 23, 2010) is based on the following grading schedule:

PROHIBITED ISSUES

Cheating, talking, using phones and other electronic equipment, exam preparation notes, plagiarism, or
presenting other’s work as one’s own are strongly prohibited during mid-term and final exams. Talking
to examiners and creating manipulative activities during exams are strictly forbiden.

ATTENTION: THESE TERMS MUST BE MET.


Along with theoretical and practical information, case studies from the real world are discussed,
business role games, presentation associated with various scenarios, group and project tasks are
performed and modern training methods and techniques are employed.

Student performance is assessed based on weekly and term quiz, class participation, homework and
cumulative term exam (multiple choice and open questions).

Attention: Long sentences and texts cannot be presented in the slides except formula, graphics, tables
and other instructional texts. Teacher must be able to conduct presentations until the end of the class.
Attention: Lectures and seminars must be conducted at the language of instruction. Unrelated issues
must not be discussed.

In order to encourage and motivate the Masters the following teaching methods could be widely
used in the practice:
 Small groups of powers and responsibilities of the individual work of the creative team under
the leadership of general issues of joint activity is directed to the master and leader of the group. The
coordinated interaction among the Masters stimulates the team work and team building;
 Business case games are the tool to realize on lessons the social and professional activity.
Various roles in the workplace, experts in connection with the implementation of the functions in real
life examples. The Masters are divided into groups and they are asked to play the role of the situation.
It prepares them to re-take the case in similar situations in real life;
 Critical thinking, logical thinking ability is directed for the formation and implementation of
creative ideas and new opportunities for development;
 A better option is to find solutions to the problems existing in the field of analysis and analysis
of case is professional activities. The detailed analysis of the situation is helpful for the Masters. They
consider the positive potential practice and identify the problems and studies using the critical
thinking;
 Special orders for solving allows them to realize that their analysis through better topics
(individually and in groups,) in form of training games;
 Brain storming. The problem is presented in a very short time it is requested that they do as
much as possible to take the ways of solution. The idea is to better understanding and cooperation will
enhance the team building and resolution of the problems;
 The subject of the study is to find new materials in advance, which will be taught in the
classroom by undergraduates.
 Learning based on experience – provision of the knowledge to the Masters based on the
personal experience.

The teaching methods and tools used in the course and each of them individually to follow the masters’
groups.

Attention: these terms must be met.


In addition to theoretical and practical information, the program includes case studies, role-playing,
business games, presentations of various scenarios, group and project work, and usage of modern
teaching methods and technologies.

The Master's thesis mastering is evaluated on a weekly or a half-semester test, attendance level,
homework, and cumulative exam (consisting of test questions and written questions).
Caution: No sentence or text can be used in the presentations except the formula, graphic, table, or
other directives. The teacher should be able to carry out the presentation until the end of the lecture.
Attention: Lectures and seminars should be taught in its language, and the discussion of the issues not
related to education is forbidden.

The following auxiliary teaching methods should be widely used in accelerating and stimulating
the active participation of masters:
- team work is a collaborative effort to summarize the results of individual work by team members
through sharing of authorities and responsibilities and is a joint activity aimed at the solution of
common issues of the undergraduate groups under the leadership of the leader. Working in a group
encourages mutual understanding, responsibility and co-operation among masters;
- business games are a form of revitalization of the social and specific content of the future
professional activity of a specialist. In roles the role of professional activity of masters in realization of
functions of experts on different workplaces is presented. Masters are divided into groups, exposed to
them, and they are asked to play a situational role. It prepares them for similar situations in real
working conditions;
- the development of critical thinking is a method of teaching that forms the ability to propagate new
creative ideas and predict new opportunities, and also to direct students to logic, reflection;
- The analysis of specific cases is the analysis of problematic situations in the field of professional
activity and the search for options that have better solutions. Masters are given a detailed and factual
analysis of the situation. They then review the critical situation, identify positive potential practices
and problems, and learn from others' experiences;
- training games - allow masters (single or in a group) to solve specifically modeled tasks so that they
can better understand the subject through analysis;
- collective discussion: brainstorming. Masters are offered a problem, and they are asked to
effectively deal with this problem in a very short time. Collecting ideas, grouping them and classifying
them into categories lead to a better understanding of the problem and strengthening of the sense of
cooperation (teamwork);
- Preliminary study of topics - preliminary study of new materials that will be taught in the
classroom;
- Practical training is the activation of the master’s understanding activity on the basis of personal
experience.
The abovementioned methods and ways of teaching should be used in the curriculum, and each
of them must be adapted to the master groups individually.
