“You who are young, be happy while you are young, and let your heart

Give you joy in the days of your youth. Follow the ways of your heart
And whatever your eyes see, but know that for all these things” (Ecc. 11.9, NIV).

Adjusting the scale of an image using Autocad

1) Paste the image from the clipboard using the paste special button, and select Bits map.
2) Measure the reference object x or y direction, (in the example y=170.193).
3) Determinate the scale factor to convert the dimension measured to the real dimension (in the example
Diameter 24.4 mm “source Banco de la Republica”).
𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑙 𝑑𝑖𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑠𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑎𝑑𝑗𝑢𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑑 𝑡𝑜 𝑑𝑟𝑎𝑤𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑢𝑛𝑖𝑡𝑠 244
𝐹𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑜𝑟 = = =1.434
𝑎𝑝𝑟𝑜𝑥𝑖𝑚𝑎𝑡𝑒 𝑚𝑒𝑎𝑠𝑢𝑟𝑒𝑑 𝑑𝑖𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑠𝑖𝑜𝑛 170.193

4) Apply the scale factor in the scale box in the image properties, verify again the dimension (example image
245.529), if the dimension is very close to the target dimension, if the dimension does not adjust, apply
again the scale until the distance is very close (example image: scale 140.45 y=244.038), afterward review
the other dimension (x), if it not adjust, first change the lock aspect property, and then make the same
procedure explained.
