and melodic phrases.

Cinquillo came into existence with Danzon* music in Cuba. This music was crated by Miguel Fallde-Perez in the
Province of Matanzas in Cuba. In 1877 he wrote “Las Alturas de Simpson” (The Heights of Simpson) named forthe town
‘of Simpson inthe hills overlooking Matanzas,

filtered down to become an integral part of many other thythinic patieens,
