Prompt: What hypothesis or combination of hypotheses for the origin of agriculture do you find
most interesting? Reflect on why you find it interesting. Also, consider in your reflection how
such a model might be tested.

I find the Evolution and Intentionality theory to be the most interesting. This is because
he had a very different view on what agriculture was. He thought that humans were adapting to
plants and animals as plants and animals were adapting to humans. This may not be accepted by
archeologists today because it is very hard to test. I can’t currently think of a way to test this
theory other than if we could go back in time and watch why they started agriculture and why
they thought farming and such would be so useful to them. We can also look at if they were
trying to protect the plants of if they were farming them for purely just food.
