Within the next 5 years I plan to….

 Have a full time job

 Be registered in CT and MRI modalities

 Go back to the masters program at MSU to do management or become an RA

Within the next 20 years I plan to…

 Become the director of a radiology department

 Get a doctorates in Radiology

 Be registered in as many modalities as I can

Professional philosophy

In this profession raising awareness is very important. Most other health professionals

take our career as a joke because they think that we are just “button pushers”. Promoting our

career is very important if we want to keep this career secure. Research and publishing papers is

important because we can help discover new ways of diagnosing as well as keeping our patients

safe. Promoting the radiology program on ads on tv or radio is also a good idea, I hear ads about

nursing all the time but I have never heard one for radiology. People don’t understand our part in

diagnosing diseases. Being involved is also important because people try to do our jobs all the

time, nursing always wants to take over our jobs. We have to stand together and show them that

what we do is important and not anybody can do it without the education we have worked for.
Being advocates for our profession is very important and being informed about the law and how

the laws are changing can help us secure our profession.
