April 10, 2019 To Whom It May Concer: ‘This letter of recommendation is written on behalf of Mrs. Diana Shenkel. | am an Education jalist with the Del Mar Union School District and earlier this school year Mrs. Shenkel instructional support for students in the resource program. Although I only had the pleasure of working with Mrs. Shenkel for several months, | was able to quickly see her genuine passion and innate skills for teaching children, Mrs. Shenk! is a creative educator with a natural ability to motivate and accommodate the needs all leamers while holding consistent and high ‘expectations for cach student she works with in both small group and classroom settings. Mrs, Shenkel is a confident, organized, dependable, and easy-going person. She gains the respect of staff and students quickly by her consistency, intuitiveness, and fairness. Her varied interests and teaching experiences, coupled with her high level of academic and social emotional knowledge, enables her to handle a variety of situations both academically and behaviorally. She effectively communicates with students and staff and is most definitely a team player. In addition, Mrs. Shenkel is very creative and takes initiative and contributes in any way she can that will benefit the students, teachers, and classes she works with. Mrs. Shenkel continuously seeks out strategies to better serve her students and increase her own skillset. In addition, she is never afraid to ask for suggestions or clarifying questions, often modeling for students what is to be a leamer and increase their participation. Mrs. Shenkel quickly became a respected and requested instructional assistant and colleague here at Sage Canyon Elementary school and to this day is missed. It is without reservation that I recommend Mrs. Shenkel for any opportunity both educationally and professionally that she ‘chooses to pursue.
