Observations
● Very talkative/sociable student
● Disengaged in terms of content - individual work +
writing/reading material, lecture(s)
● Strengths:
○ Natural leadership in/out of the classroom
○ Very goal oriented
○ Social butterfly - Sharp/Witty
● Sociocultural factors:
○ Not too many male figures (coaches, teachers)

Intervention
● One to One ( + Arranged group seating)
○ Using time to further explain instruction + expectations
■ Helps Corey stay on “task”
● Implement more structure to lesson design(s)
○ Evolution of Lessons 1, 2 , 3
● Make content“Digestible”
○ Using different methods of instruction in hopes that
information is retained
Results
● “Corey” is a lot more responsive to one on one
“coaching”
○ Needs constant approval, back and forth
communication
● Structure greatly improves areas such as his writing.
○ Ex: Writing paragraphs, essays, articulating
thoughts in general
● When he understands content and is engaged,
strengths are better utilized (Ex: Lesson 3)
Ha’ina
1. Set the foundation for good learning habits before:
a. Giving too much creative freedom
2. Even the “playing field” for all students
a. Like “Corey” in Football, give students the chance to
play their role/position according to their strengths yet
challenge them
3. Artists don’t make mistakes, they just change their minds.
