As her cooperating teacher, I have had the pleasure of supervising Brandi during the summer of 2018, and I have been able to observe her lesson development in the area of content reading. From Brandi’s first day, she has impressed me with her management skills. She understands proximity. Her quiet demeanor was amazing with regard to correcting student behavior. It is evident that she has quite a bit of experience working with kids. While working with students, Brandi Is consistently focused on how to maximize student learning which has allowed her to excel in the areas of lesson planning, meeting objectives, and classroom management. Students love working with her in her small group, which shows that she has a great rapport with the children. Brandi developed creative and innovative lessons that incorporate technology. Our theme for the summer was landforms, specifically volcanoes. She found fun videos for the students to watch, used new inventive ways to explore unfamiliar vocabulary, and engaged the kids’ imagination for deeper meaning.
