To whom it may concern,

I am very excited at the prospect of joining the Occasional Teacher list to begin my teaching career.
I am both available and eager to work in all areas across the school board. This will provide me the
opportunity to work alongside a diverse group of teaching professionals from whom I look forward
to learning from and collaborating with. I will be completing the, English Language Learners Part 1
additional qualification course this summer in preparation for the upcoming school year. I also
intend to earn my Intermediate Qualifications during the 2019-2020 school year.

I believe that an exceptional teacher is one who truly knows and understands the needs of their
individual students. I strive to engage all of my students by developing inquiry-based unit plans that
allow for differentiation, student choice and hands-on learning. I seek to create a warm, supportive
classroom environment where every student voice is heard, respected and appreciated. I
purposefully and intentionally use positive self talk within the classroom to model a growth mindset.
My aim as an educator is to help students achieve their learning goals through carefully scaffolded
learning opportunities using assessment as, of and for learning to guide my teaching, and to support
student growth and understanding. I pride myself on building an equitable learning environment that
addresses the needs of all my learners.

I am a dedicated, driven, and inclusive individual with a wide variety of skills and attributes that I
believe will make me an exemplary member of the teaching community. Given the opportunity to
join your school board, I will support all students by fostering individual growth and development
through student leadership and team-building opportunities.
